Non Contact Position Sensors
Ixthus have the solution for every non contact position measurement application – harsh environments with temperatures up 800deg C, working in fluids, gases and vacuums, withstanding pressures up to 400 bar. Whilst maintaining excellent repeatable readings time and time again.
Inductive – Eddy Current Position SensorsKaman Aerospace Measuring Systems are recognised worldwide as the undisputed leader in the design and production of high-performance, precision non-contact eddy current position measuring systems.
Measuring to magnetic or non-magnetic targets the eddy current technology offers an idea solution for both R&D and OEM production projects for aerospace, automotive and medical applications. The latest amplifier design incorporates analogue outputs of 0 to 10 VDC and 4 to 20 mA with operating frequencies up to 50 KHz.
Capacitive Position SensorsADE Technologies a division of KLA Tencor, offer Capacitive Position Sensors that are ideal for precise, linear displacement measurements and linear position sensing.
Optimized for short measurement ranges – 10 micrometres to 5 millimetres, this completely non contact displacement measurement technology can detect off any conductive grounded target – surface finish has no effect on accuracy. With a frequency response of up to 200 KHz these units are ideal for measuring high speed rotating shafts and targets.
Laser and Fibre Optic Position SensorsIxthus works with three manufacturers of laser sensors to cover measurement ranges from 1mm up to 500m. Riftek offer compact triangulation laser sensors for up to 1000mm and 2D scanning systems. LMI Technologies have high resolution and speed solutions with analogue and digital outputs. Dimetix offers long range measurement up to 500m with a resolution to 1.5mm.
The fibre optic measurement technology from Philtec is fairly unique, the system uses a controlled reflected light principle to make measurements up to 50mm. Both analogue and digital outputs are available with up date speeds of 20KHz. The fibre optic technology is well placed for use in vacuum and Philtec offer a number of vacuum pass-throughs.
Ultrasonic Position SensorsMigatron ultrasonic sensors have long been used for range measurements, tank level control, web brake and proximity detection when difficult environments, challenging reflection surfaces or the need for extreme accuracy render traditional optical sensing devices unsuitable.
The range includes a wide variety of high-quality standard ultrasonic sensors and controllers, as well as design assistance for semi-custom units.
Colour Position SensorsSensor Instruments range of colour sensors SI-COLO Series operate according to the 3 colour range principle, with a white-light LED as a light source. The sensors are parameterised under a Windows® based software program through the serial RS232 interface. Outputs of both colour value and variation from the targets are available.
