Laser measuring is a process of using lasers to measure the position of an object or liquid. Laser measuring is used within different industries.
Laser measuring usually takes place in confined spaces, laser sensors are non-contacting so work well in environments even if these are limited space.
What is Laser Measuring?
Laser measuring is a type of position sensing technology. It is highly accurate and well suited to applications in process monitoring or quality control.
Laser measuring involves the laser sensor emitting a laser onto an object, the laser reflects off of the object back to the laser sensor, the angle at which it is received and the strength of the signal can be processed to give an accurate position reading.

Example of Laser Measuring
Laser measuring is used throughout many industries for high precision non-contact measurements. Some of these applications include;
Measuring Object Dimensions - Laser sensors can be used to measure the perimeter of an object and determine the size and shape of the object.
Thickness Measurement - laser measuring can determine the thickness of a material using non-contacting technology.
Displacement of an object - laser measuring can determine the displacement of an object by comparing a series of measurements to determine the distance travelled.
Object sorting - laser sensors can be used to determine which objects are different shapes and sort them respectively.
Profiling - laser measuring can be used to determine the profile of a chosen object.
Liquid level detection - detecting the amount of liquid in bottles during the filling process.
